1. About MaeLinne

The legal seller is Adele Persson, a sole trader trading as Maelinne (styled MaeLinne on this website). Our postal and business contact address is Ballynacourty, Belgooly, P17 YD88, Ireland.

Email: [email protected]
Telephone: 089 474 3845
Returns address: Maelinne Store, Ballynacourty, Belgooly, P17 YD88, Ireland.

2. Orders and payment

These terms apply to consumer purchases from www.maelinne.ie. Check your items, sizes, delivery address and total before submitting your order. Payment is taken through the payment methods shown at checkout. Your order is accepted when payment is successfully confirmed and our website displays your order confirmation. Keep your order reference for any queries. We will provide confirmation of your order and the applicable terms in a durable format no later than delivery.

If a product becomes unavailable or we identify a price or description error affecting your order, we will contact you to resolve it. We will not charge you a higher price or substitute a different product without your agreement. Any cancellation or refund will respect your statutory rights.

3. Prices and delivery charges

Prices are in euro and include any VAT applicable to the sale. Delivery charges and discounts are shown before you pay. The final checkout total is the amount payable.

Standard delivery within the Republic of Ireland costs €5. Delivery is free when the total price of your goods after discounts is €40 or more.

4. Delivery

We deliver within the Republic of Ireland. Dispatch and delivery take up to five working days in total from order acceptance. Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and Irish public holidays. Any different delivery arrangement will be stated before you place your order.

Unless another period is agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being made. If delivery is late, contact us. You may be entitled to set a reasonable additional deadline and cancel if it is missed. You may cancel without allowing extra time where the law permits, including where we refuse delivery or an agreed delivery date was essential.

Where we arrange the carrier, responsibility for delivery remains with us until you or your nominated recipient takes physical possession. Contact us if an order is missing, damaged or incorrect.

5. Changed your mind? How to return your order

You can change your mind after your order arrives. You have 14 calendar days from receiving your clothes to tell us you want to return them. This is your legal right to cancel an online purchase; it does not mean you must cancel before delivery.

  1. Tell us within 14 days of receipt. Email [email protected] with your name, order reference and the items you want to return. Clearly say you wish to cancel the purchase of those items. You do not have to give a reason. You can also write to our business address or use the optional cancellation form below.
  2. Send the items back within the next 14 days. This second period starts when you tell us you are cancelling. You do not need our approval before exercising this right.
  3. You pay the return postage if you have changed your mind. This includes a correctly supplied and described item that does not fit or suit you. If an item is faulty, incorrect or misdescribed, MaeLinne pays the necessary return costs instead; see section 9.

For example, you may tell us on the last day of the first 14-day period that you want to return an item. You then have a further 14 days to send it back. These are deadlines for notifying us and sending the return, not permission to wear the clothes during that time.

If items from one order arrive separately, the cancellation period runs from receipt of the last item. Receipt by someone you nominate, other than the carrier, counts as receipt. You may also notify us of cancellation before delivery.

6. Sending back a change-of-mind return

Send the goods to the returns address above without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of cancellation. The deadline is met if you send them before that period expires.

You bear the direct postage cost of returning goods when you change your mind, including where an item does not fit and was correctly described and supplied. Keep proof of dispatch. Tracked postage is recommended, but is not compulsory.

Return condition for change-of-mind items: please return clothes clean, unwashed, unaltered and in the condition received, allowing for careful inspection and trying on as you would in a shop. Avoid wearing them beyond trying on, and avoid stains, make-up or deodorant marks, perfume, smoke or other odours. Keep tags attached and return packaging where possible.

If handling beyond reasonable inspection or trying on reduces an item's value, we may make a proportionate deduction from your refund to reflect that actual loss in value. We will explain and evidence any deduction. We do not automatically refuse a statutory return because it has been tried on, tags or packaging are missing, or it is no longer saleable as new.

These condition expectations do not remove your rights for goods supplied faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed. See section 9.

7. Change-of-mind refunds

We refund the price paid for the goods you validly return under your change-of-mind cancellation right, subject to any lawful deduction for loss in value explained in section 6.

You pay the postage to send change-of-mind returns back to MaeLinne. We do not provide free change-of-mind return postage or reimburse the postage you pay to send those items back. This applies where a correctly supplied and described item does not fit or suit you.

The original delivery charge is a different cost. If you cancel your entire order, we also refund the cheapest standard delivery charge you originally paid to have it sent from MaeLinne to you. This does not mean we pay for your postage back to us. If your original delivery was free, there is no original delivery charge to refund. Any extra amount you chose to pay for an upgraded delivery service is not refunded under this right.

Faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods: MaeLinne covers the necessary return costs for statutory remedies. The customer-paid postage rule above does not apply in those cases; see section 9.

We refund without undue delay and within 14 days after being informed of cancellation. Unless we offer to collect the goods, we may withhold the refund until we receive them back or you supply evidence of dispatch, whichever happens first. Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee.

We do not charge a restocking, administration or payment-processing fee for statutory cancellations. Any lawful deduction for diminished value will be explained.

8. Exchanges and returns outside the statutory period

We do not offer a separate voluntary exchange service for a different size, colour or style. If you wish to change an item, use your statutory cancellation right where available and place a new order. A new order is subject to availability and its normal delivery charge.

We do not offer additional change-of-mind returns after the statutory cancellation period. This does not limit rights concerning faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods, including any right to replacement. Statutory rights also apply to discounted and sale purchases.

9. Faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods

Goods must comply with the contract and applicable requirements for quality, fitness, description and durability. If something is wrong, contact us with your order details and a description of the problem. Photos can help us assess it, but are not a condition of exercising your statutory rights. Reasonable proof of purchase may be requested.

If a lack of conformity becomes apparent within 30 days of delivery, you may exercise the statutory short-term right to terminate and receive a full refund. Later faults can also give rights to repair or replacement, and to a price reduction or termination and refund in the circumstances provided by law. Your rights do not end after 14 or 30 days.

MaeLinne bears the necessary costs of providing a statutory remedy, including applicable return, repair and replacement-delivery costs. Contact us so we can arrange an appropriate prepaid return or agree reimbursement of reasonable return postage. The buyer-paid change-of-mind postage policy does not apply to these remedies.

Refunds following statutory termination for faulty goods will be made without undue delay, within the applicable legal deadline, and using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. These rights do not cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage or ordinary wear and tear.

10. Product descriptions

Check the product description, composition, measurements and size information before ordering. Screens may display colour differently, but this does not excuse a materially inaccurate description. Product photographs and any illustrative imagery do not limit your right to receive goods matching their description.

11. Complaints and applicable law

For a complaint, email [email protected] or write to our business address with your order details and the outcome you seek. We will consider your complaint and respond without undue delay.

These terms are governed by Irish law. Nothing in them excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 as amended, or any applicable right to bring proceedings in a court available to you under consumer law. Changes to these terms apply to future orders and do not retrospectively change an existing contract.

Optional cancellation form

Complete and send this only if you wish to cancel your purchase. You may instead send any clear cancellation statement.
